About the event
Public Life, Public Space: A GCSU Ethnographic Methods Class Exhibit
Presented by GCSU’s Ethnographic Methods Class (ANTH 4950)
📍 Allen’s Market | 101 Floyd L Griffin Jr St.
📅 April 30 | 2:00 – 3:30 PM
Nineteen students from Georgia College & State University’s Ethnographic Methods course have spent the Spring Semester exploring the dynamic relationship between public spaces and public life in Milledgeville. Through participant observation, community engagement, and interviews, students studied how public spaces foster connection and community among residents.
Research sites include the Oconee River Greenway, Walter B. Williams and City Parks, Mary Vinson Memorial Library and its branches, and downtown Milledgeville. At this public exhibit, students will present their findings and insights on how these spaces contribute to meaningful social interactions in our city.
