She visualizes the painting in shades of gray, the vivid colors adding splashes of light in the dark shades. Westfall’s brilliant paintings capture both the stillness and movement of her subjects. She produces paintings of not only animals, but people as well. Westfall commented that “there is something so powerful about taking a photo so recognizable and rendering it in such an unprecedented way. It brings emotion and life to things that people previously viewed stagnant.” Her works are truly unique and the larger-than-life works make for an exciting exhibit.
The opening reception for Horses will take place on August 20 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the John Marlor Art Center. During this free community event, guests will have the opportunity to view the exhibit and speak with the artist about her process and inspiration. Light refreshments will be served.
